July 31st - August 24th 2008 - The Underbelly - Edinburgh Festival
Lichentongue was the second play written for fluff productions by Pericles Snowdon. It performed at The Underbelly and was Fluffs Edinburgh Festival debut. Lichentongue was extremely popular with a wide audience and received fantastic reviews including 5 stars in the '3 weeks' publication.
Thora Lichentongue has it all - two prime time chat shows, stardom - she even has her very own stalker. But when a young computer programmer appears on her show and steals the limelight with a frightening technological display, Thora gets a glitch in her system. She misplaces her wit; much to her lover's delight. In fact, there's only one person who can pull her through this catastrophic weekend... But when technology begins to upstage laughter, can Thora keep hold of her humour... and her humanity?
A hilarious, thought-provoking tale of celebrity in a ruthlessly accelerating world - from this dynamic all female ensemble.
"There is something electrifying about this show" Three Weeks
"Cyberpunk satire on celebrity" The Scotsman
"The calibre of the acting displayed by the all female cast is extremely high" Three Weeks
"Seriously funny show... A must see... Excellent performances all round" Ed Fringe
